Following a difficult year of virtual learning and academic disruptions, many of our community's youth are at a greater disadvantage of staying on track and succeeding in the new school year. Boys & Girls Clubs are not only a fun, safe environment for kids to go during the summer, but a critical resource that keeps them learning and developing while school is out.

BGCAA's high-quality camp programming ensures the physical and emotional safety of youth, and is designed to address summer learning loss, or "the summer slide." Studies show that youth experience a significant decline in reading and mathematical performance during summer break. Programs, like Summer Brain Gain, have theme-based activities in math, literacy, and STEM that align with the Common Core curriculum and aim to eliminate summer learning loss. It is just one of many programs designed to keep campers engaged, and help them learn, practice, and reinforce new skills and concepts. With fun activities, field trips, daily recreation and exercise, and two meals a day, kids have a stable, educational place to have fun, stay safe, and simply be kids again.

Camp is available at all 6 of BGCAA's Clubhouses, and runs for 7 weeks long for youth ages 6 to 12 from 8am to 4pm. We know the need is great for our community's youth, so summer camp is completely free this year to everyone who registered. By providing free access to mentors, running life-changing programs, and serving nutritious meals, we can give our community's most vulnerable youth the same opportunity to succeed as their peers so they are ready when school resumes in the fall.

Help us provide free summer camp this year by donating below. Your support, no matter how big or small, makes a huge difference in the lives of the kids who need us most.
