About Youth of the Year

Each year, BGCAA nominates and recognizes an exceptional 14 to 18yr old Club member as our Youth of the Year to serve as an ambassador for our local youth as well as a voice for our nation’s young people. BGCAA’s Youth of the Year exemplifies the critical impact that Boys Girls Clubs have on the lives of young people.

Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club teens. Club members who earn the Youth of the Year title embody the values of leadership service; academic excellence; and healthy lifestyles. They are proof of the impact Clubs make in transforming and saving kids’ lives. The National Youth of the Year is a role model, leader and advocate for over 4.6 million youth served by Boys & Girls Clubs each year, and all of America’s young people.
