ADMIRAL OAKS
David, 9
David always has a huge smile on his face. He is such a happy person with a kind heart. He does his homework everyday and enjoys our Power Hour program.  He even helps other members with their homework.

Shariyah, 11
Shariyah is extremely energetic and leads her group 3rd-5th in Power Hour. She also greets everyone with a warm smile that brightens up everyone's day.

 
BYWATER
Zaniya, 7
Zaniya is a 2nd grade student at Mills Parole. She participates in Power Hour, Rooted in Reading, and Smart Kids. Zaniya is very quiet and shy but is always willing to help around the Club.

Antonio, 13
Antonio attends Marley School. Last season he played on the basketball team. His Favorite subject in school is math.  Antonio participates in Passport to Manhood and Power hour programs.  Antonio likes to help with our Keystone Club community service activities. He loves to come to the Boys & Girls Club because he enjoys hanging out with is friends in the teen center. 


 
MEADE VILLAGE
Kheyon, 11
Kheyon  started attending the club during Summer Camp and has been an active member since. He is a 6th grader at MacArthur Middle School. Kheyon loves coming to the club because he feels as though he can be himself. He loves that fact that we have a Middle School Teen Room. He said it gives him the chance to chat with his friends. His favorite program is Torch Club because he likes helping people. When he grows up, he wants to be a scientist. His hobbies include sports and computers.

Summer 2017
ADMIRAL OAKS
Todd, 14
Todd shows excellent leadership skills, other than being a big brother to his little brother Tyler, Todd is like a big brother to a lot of the younger boys at the club. He is very articulate, always willing to asking questions and follow directions when we go on field trips as well as when we are in the club. Todd continuously displays a positive attitude, he is caring, and playful addition to teen camp this year and I am always happy to see him present in attendance.

Sunashi, 13
Sunashi  is a bright, bubbly, and all around respectful young adult. From the first day at camp Sunashi's energy brightened up the room, she always has a smile on her face and never has anything negative to say. She is a team player and an avid listener.

Jalen, 12
Jalen  is twelve years old and going to the seventh grade. He enjoys playing in the gym and outside with his friends at the club. Jalen has a all-around good personality and he is know to be a leader. When he is not at the club he loves to play all different type of sports.

Amber, 10
Amber is ten years old and going to the fifth grade. At the club she likes to make new friends and play with them as well. Amber is really outgoing and has a very generous personality. When she is not at camp she loves to dance and draw.

Qiomyi, 11
Qiomyi is an outstanding club member! She attends the club daily with her little sister DeNasia. Qiomyi was chosen this month because she's helpful and polite. Her eagerness and willingness to participate in activities always stands out!

Paolo, 10
Paola is an active member of Passport to Manhood and led the group in many projects as well as discussion. Paolo is a gentleman and practices that behavior daily. Paolo loves to check in with staff to see what the plan is for the day and how he can help out.

Nijah, 9
Nijah was a star camper. He was always willing to help and assist with activities, to read to the 6 & 7 years old’s. Nijah was a big help to the staff when it was time for lunch and time to clean up.

Nate, 11
Nathaniel affectionately called “Nate Nate" was a trooper during camp. He was always coming to camp with a smile on his face and ready to have fun. Nate was the Jr. Staff's right hand man in Sports camp. It was a pleasure having him in camp. 


 
MEADE VILLAGE
Eriyana, 9
Eriyana  is a new member at Meade. She used to go to a club in North Carolina, and she enjoyed it so much that she asked her mom to enroll her into our Boys and Girls Club, once she moved here. She loves summer camp, and she’s already excited to see what we offer during the school year. Her favorite program is Summer Brain Gain. Her favorite activity  was researching and drawing fireflies. She enjoys coming to the club because of the games we play during triple play, as well as the team building activities. When she grows up she wants to be a teacher so she can help people become smarter.

Jaden, 11
 Jaden loves coming to the club because he has met a lot of new people. He is very helpful and he shows great sportsmanship. His favorite program is our specialized camp. He loves playing football. When Jaden grows up, he wants to be a doctor so he can help people.

Trinity, 10
Trinity is an outstanding club member! She attends the club daily with her little sister DeNasia. Trinity was chosen this month because she's helpful and polite. Her eagerness and willingness to participate in activities always stands out!

Jermaine, 15
Jermaine attends Glen Burnie High School. He has played for Glen Burnie’s JV Football team and basketball 
team. His Favorite subject in school is math. Jermaine participates in our STEM as a mentor, Power Hour 
Keystone Club and PREP (PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM . Jermaine is always helping our younger members. Jermaine plays a big part in community service projects for our Keystone Club.

Jamarie, 7
Jamarie is a 7-year-old at Hebron Harman Elementary. He is in the first grade and he loves to read. Jamarie has a smile that would light up any room. He’s always happy when enters the club. Jamarie’s favorite sport is basketball. He is excited to participate in our specialized Team Sports program this summer. Jamarie loves to come to the club to play foosball. Although he is a little shy at times, he plays well with others. His favorite program is Hour of Code. He loves building his own games. When Jamarie grows up he wants to be a firefighter so that he can save lives.

Michael, 13 
"Mike Mike" has had a great journey in the past 2 years. He was having a hard time in school and with friends. Since Michael has been coming to the club everyday he hasn't been in any trouble and he has recently made the honor roll. 


 
BATES
George, 11 
George is one of Wiley H. Bates Boys & Girls Club shinning stars. He possesses such a positive attitude that it becomes infectious throughout the club. George assists with another 6th grader to run our weekly art program for our 3rd through 5th graders. George is also Bates Torch Club President and in April hosted its first event, a Spring Neon Party for the teens/tweens that was a huge success.


 
BYWATER
Briaja, 11
Briaja is a 6th grader at Bates Middle and is a member of the Smart Girls program. When she's not participating in programs, she is playing games on the computer or excelling in a daily word scramble.


 
FREETOWN VILLAGE
Angel, 15
Angel attends Chesapeake Science Point Charter School. Her Favorite subject in school is Science. Angel participates in our STEM as a mentor, Power Hour and Keystone. Angel is always helpful with our younger members. She loves to come to the Boys & Girls Club because it gives her a place to interact with other teens. Every weekend she volunteers feeding the homeless. 


 
MEADE VILLAGE
Rylee, 7
Rylee is a very helpful and happy kid at the club. He started at the club a few months ago and it is a pleasure having him here. He is 7 years old and attends Hebron Harman Elementary. His favorite subject is math. In his spare time, Rylee enjoys playing football and basketball. He loves coming to the club because he has made a lot of new friends. He enjoys Triple Play and Hour of Code. When he grows up he wants to be an author because he loves to read.

Jorge, 10
Jorge has not missed a day coming to Admiral Oaks since the day he signed up. He comes to the club ready to have fun and his favorite program is Triple Play. He is one of the best helpers at the club.

Vivian, 11 
Vivian is in 6th grade at Bates Middle. She is the Vice President of the Torch Club. She will begin teaching an art program for our 3rd-5th grade and K-2nd graders during spring programs. Vivian often assists the younger members of our club and has become a shining star here at Bates. At the club, she enjoys having the freedom to express herself and have fun.

Michael, 10

Dallas attends Freetown Elementary School. Her Favorite subject in school is English. Dallas participates 
in the STEM Power Hour and Smart Girls programs. Dallas always has a smile on her face. She loves to come to the Boys & Girls Club because there is always something fun to do.

Kayla, 8
Kayla is an eight-year-old second grader at Van Bokkelen Elementary School. Her favorite subject is math because she loves to count. When Kayla grows up she wants to be a teacher so that she can help kids learn. Kayla loves coming to the club. She is a leader and she is very sociable. Her favorite program is STEM because she loved learning about animals. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, movies vacationing, and dancing. Kayla always helps without being asked.

Shamon, 14
Shamon has been chosen for the member of the month because of his leadership and positive  attitude. Shamon, who is in 8th grade, comes to the club everyday ready to work. He is also captain of the Bates Ballers basketball team.

Mia, 12 
Mia is a 7th grader who attends Bates Middle. Over the past month, Mia has led a team of younger girls and taught them dance routines as well as showed them how to make rice krispy Treats. Mia also has become a mentor to the younger girls; having open dialogue with them and helping with homework. Mia is a member of the Delta Academy, also serves as secretary for The Torch Club.

Ryzaya, 6
Ryzaya is 6 years old and she attends Mills Parole Elementary. Ryzaya is very respectful not only to the staff but her fellow club members. She participates in Power Hour and Rooted In Reading. Ryzaya is always willing to step outside her comfort zone no matter how tough the challenge may be.

Miaysha, 8
Miaysha attends Freetown Elementary School. Her Favorite subject in school is English. Miaysha participates in our Rooted in Reading, Power Hour, and Smart Girls programs.  Miaysha is the youngest of four siblings that attend the Club. She loves to come to the Boys & Girls Club because of her friends.

Kevin, 8
Kevin is an 8-year-old student at Van Bokkelen Elementary. Kevin has shown a lot of improvement over the last few months. He enjoys coming to the club because he likes playing pool and foosball with his friends. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys riding his bike and playing with video games. This month, Kevin has participated in Rooted in Reading, Smart Moves, Myfuture.net, and Triple Play Body. Kevin’s favorite program is Triple Play Body because working out with Mr. Ra’Kwon gives him energy.

Fallou, 6
Fallou is very active at the Admiral Oaks club. He loves playing games on the computer and always has a big smile on his face. He is a awesome helper and never complains when he's ask to do something.

Danielle, 6
Danielle is in Kindergarten and attends Mills Parole Elementary.  She has been great at participating in Power Hour this month. Every day she comes to the club and reads.  Danielle loves to play with her friends and dance.

Donnell, 10
Bywater Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Month Nominee is Donnell. Donnell attends Mills Parole Elementary and recently made principals honor roll.  He enjoys playing lacrosse, playing computer games, and playing outside with his friends.

Kacy, 9
Kacy attends Freetown Elementary School. Her Favorite subject in school is Music. Kacy participates in our Rooted in Reading, Power Hour, and Smart Girls programs. This is Kacy’s first year being a member of the Boys & Girls club. She was very shy when she first came to the club, now she is more active with other club members. She said she loves to come to the Boys & Girls Club because she likes to be with her friends.

Hailey, 7
Hailey is a 7-year-old at Hebron Harman Elementary School. She enjoys playing outside, playing with toy cars, and Barbie dolls. Every day she comes into the club with a big smile on her face. She is always happy. She loves playing with her friends, and she enjoys coloring and playing Legos. Hailey participates in Rooted in Reading, SMART Moves, Arts and Craft, and Triple Play Body. Her favorite program is Triple Play. During the workouts, Hailey never gives up. When Hailey grows up, she wants to be a teacher so that she can tell children what to do. It is a pleasure having Hailey as a member at our Clubhouse.

R'reon, 11
R'reon comes to the club everyday ready to work. She is very helpful and always has a positive attitude about things. She is my little helper around the Admiral Oaks Club.

Marcus, 7 
Marcus has improved in program participation. He has been very respectful to the staff members and has done a fantastic job listening to instructions when they are given to him. Through his growth, Marcus has become a leader within the K-2nd age group. The other kids  follow Marcus’ example and have also been more willing to participate in programs and listen to instructions. His enthusiasm to participate helps create a fun atmosphere wherever he goes.

Amarion, 10
Amarion participates in Triple Play Healthy habits and loves to play sports.  His favorite teams are the Ravens and Lakers.  He is always polite and wears a smile on his face.

Freetown BGCAA Choir, 7 - 14
The Freetown Choir delighted everyone with their voices during performances at the Glen Burnie Town Center Tree lighting, Marley Station Mall, and Michaels' 8th Ave.

 
MEADE VILLAGE
Cornell, 9
Cornell is a third grader at Van Bokkelen Elementary. During his free time, he enjoys playing video games and sports. Cornell has matured in the last few months. He comes in the club and he starts his homework right away. Cornell socializes with his friends and although he can be competitive at times, he shows good sportsmanship. This session, he participates in the Debate Team, Triple Play Body, Myfuture.net, Passport to Manhood, and Power Hour. Cornell’s favorite program is Myfuture.net. It is a pleasure when Cornell enters the club because he always has such a big smile on his face.

Emerson, 7 
Emerson is in the 2nd grade. Every day that Emerson comes to the club he is skipping and smiling. He is a great helper for programs and with the computer. He also is very polite and honest.

 
BATES
Tyler, 10                                Dajah, 11
Tyler is in the 5th grade and Dajah is in the 6th grade. Over the past month Tyler has become a great asset for the Bates Club. Every day Tyler comes in, does his homework, then helps any member in his group that needs assistance. He has joined the Reading Club to become better at reading as well as learn new words. Also Tyler helps out with maintaining the Game room and collecting trash at the end of the day. Instead of Members Choice at the final hour at the club each day Tyler gathers his friends and cleans the club. Dajah  is an awesome member. She has joined the Debate Club and is one of the key members as well as being a leader in the Torch Club. Dajah is full of life and a positive attitude, often she is the glue with her group when they are struggling. Dajah's energy lifts up the teen center making it a joy to be in her presence.

Bryanna, 6
Bryanna participates in Rooted for Reading and Creative Arts programs every week. She likes to draw and color. Her favorite activity at the club is playing games on the computer.

Delores, 13
Delores attends Marely Middle School and her favorite subject in school is Science. Delores participates in the Money Matters and MyFuture.net programs. Delores always has a smile on her face. She enjoys attending  the Boys & Girls Club because  she likes to help the staff around the club. 
MEADE VILLAGE
Phoenix, 13
Phoenix  is an 8th grade student at Meade Middle. She enjoys dancing and playing volley ball. Phoenix spends her free time reading and helping people. Phoenix enjoys coming to the club because it gives her the opportunity to socialize with her friends. It allows her to learn new things in the programs, and it gives her an opportunity to complete her homework peacefully. Phoenix is an essential member of the club. She is always looking forward to assisting in any way possible. She directed the Thanksgiving play, and  hosted the Thanksgiving party. Every day she comes in the club and volunteers to help with dinner, homework, or any task that may come her way. Phoenix expressed that coming to the club is making her a better person.  She is the president of the Meade Village Torch Club and is a great role model for the younger members.

Devin, 14
Devin is in the 9th grade. He attends Annapolis Senior High School. Devin has been a real leader at the club. He comes to the club every day with a positive attitude.

 
BATES
Davonne, 13     Passion, 12 
Davonne and Passion are both the members of the month for October.  Davonne works hard at setting up the Teen Center as well as assisting with our staff to do whatever is needed for the club. Both of them helps out the k-2nd graders as well as 3rd-5th graders with Power Hour and help out with serving dinner from time to time. Both Passion and Davonne struggled in their respective classes but over the past month both have increased their GPA to honor roll and Davonne has made Principals list with straight A's.

K'Launi, 11
K'Launi  is in the 5th grade and participates every week in Smart Girls. She loves to sing and dance. Her favorite artist is Alyssa Carr.

Patrick, 14
Patrick is a freshman at Glen Burnie High School and his favorite subject is Math.  He participates in our MoneyMatters, MyFuture.net and Keystone Club programs.   He enjoys attending the Boys & Girls Club because he likes to help around the club and be with his friends.

Keiana, 13
Keiana comes to the club every day with a smile on her face. She is always willing to help, especially with the younger kids. Keiana likes to play basketball and jump rope. Her favorite subject in school is math. She loves coming to the club because of the programs. Her favorite program is Triple Play.

Hermione, 11 
Hermione attends Bates Middle school. Every day she comes into the club with a huge smile on her face and has a very positive attitude. She gets her homework done in a timely manner and she even helps the younger members with their homework.

Amani, 8 
Amani was selected September member of the month. Every day she enters our club with a bright smile and energy to fill the whole room. Amani has developed into a leader in Power Hour, she often completes her work and assists with members in her grade.  Along with be grounded in her academics Amani is also an incredible dancer who spends her free time at the Club working on her latest dance moves.

Carter, 8
Carter loves to play computer games. His favorite subject is math. During power hour he assists the younger kids with their math homework. He is very helpful around the club.

Takala, 14
Takala is a freshman at Glen Burnie High School and her Favorite subject is Math. She enjoys playing Basketball and dreams to one day play in the WNBA after completing college. Her Favorite Boys & Girls Club program is Triple Play and this year she is a member of the Keystone club. She loves attending the Boys & Girls Club because she likes to help around the club and be with her friends.

Zanyea, 13
Zanyea is in the eighth grade at Meade Middle School. She always has the biggest smile on her face when she enters the club. Zanyea loves to help out whenever help is needed. She helps out a lot with the younger club members in gathering materials they may need for programs. She loves to dance and is very good at it. Zanyea loves to make people laugh and telling jokes. She is a joy to have in the club and lights up your day. Zanyea enjoys participating in Torch club where she was elected to be the secretary.

ADMIRAL OAKS

Brandon, 13
Brandon was selected Member of the Month because he represents the best qualities we encourage our club members to display. Brandon is well-mannered, courteous and appreciative of every opportunity he is given. Brandon is respectful to the staff and his peers. During the summer sessions, he participated in every activity with a big smile on his face. We truly enjoyed watching him grow and develop as a leader.

 
BATES

Isaiah, 9
Isaiah became a leader of his respective group during Summer Camp (The Crazy 9’s). His ability to adjust to the schedule as well as motivate the other group members to do so was paramount. Isaiah showed up every day to summer camp with an enthusiastic smile and an eager 'ready for the day' attitude. Isaiah became the team leader when on field trips and assisted his Group Leaders  to ensure a great environment for the 9’s. Isaiah lead the group in “Drop Everything and Read” program by selecting the group book.

Imani, 9
This was Imani's 1st summer camp at Bywater. She liked to help the staff with activities and was bubbly and full of energy, always excited to participate in the day's events. Her positive attitude was contagious to everyone she encountered.

Noah, 6
This was Noah's 1st summer camp. Everyday Noah had a smile on his face. He was always curious to what activity was going on that day. He eagerly participated in each one. He was helpful and courteous every day of camp. 
 
FREETOWN VILLAGE
Landen, 10
This was Landen's second year attending camp. Landen is very outgoing. He enjoys making people laugh and his smile is contagious. He’s always looking out for his little brother Gaten. He enjoyed summer camp and participating in Summer Brain Gain. When Freetown village hosted a Family Night, Landen was the highlight of the night. He danced to Michael Jackson’s song Beat It. At the end of the song he moonwalked and preformed with two other groups. In addition, his hobbies are dancing and telling jokes.
MEADE VILLAGE
Mia, 8
Mia is known as M.I.A  at the Meade Village club a the club during the school year but this was her first summer camp and she had a limitless summer. She attended summer camp the entire 7 weeks and had a blast every day. She enjoyed arts & crafts, summer brain gain, and all the field trips she attended. Mia always left the club with a smile on her face. Mia told me that one of her favorite things about summer camp was when Mr. Cam (counselor) took them to get ice cream after every field trip.

Jason, 9
Jason has been attending summer camp at Meade Village for the past few years and he has tons of fun. This summer Jason really enjoyed playing with his friends and making new friendships as well. Jason really enjoyed going swimming but could not wait until we had water day at the club. Jason was one of the campers that never was ready to leave when his mom came to pick him up. He was excited every morning when he was dropped off at camp. He knew that each day was going to be filled with fun and games.

Devin, 15
Devin is an 8th grader and a regular attendee at The Admiral Oaks Boys and Girls Club. The club director has had the pleasure to watch Devin grow into a wonderful young man and dynamic role model at the club and in the Admiral Oaks community. Devin is a part of Passport to Manhood and is one of the leaders of the group.

This month two young ladies were chosen as the Member of the Month, Brooklynne & Denasia. Brooklynne has taken the lead of assisting her peers during power hour as well as participating in activities that were out of her comfort zone. By jumping in and trying new things Brooklynn has encouraged others to simply try and make the best of all opportunities. Denasia is truly an asset to the Bates Boys & Girls Club. Her leadership skills are evident by her taking the lead of a dance routine and teaching several young ladies and a couple of young guys as well.

Makayla, 8
Makayla is in 2nd grade and loves attending the club and playing with her friends. Her favorite activities are dancing and singing. She enjoys swimming at the pool and she is also excited for summer at the club!

Shariayha, 11
 Shariayha is 11 years old and is in the 5th grade. She has been attending the club every day with a huge smile on her face and has been a leader amongst her peers. She's really focused on her education and finishing the school year with great success. Every Thursday she organizes our bookshelves in the library by grade level so that her peers in the club can find books easier. In addition, Shariayha has been a big help in the kitchen passing out lunches.

ADMIRAL OAKS

Hermione, 12
Hermione is a 5th grader at Rolling Knolls Elementary in Annapolis, MD and attends the Admiral Oaks Boys and Girls Club daily. She serves as a role model in the club and in the community. She has shown much maturity while participating in Smart Girls and Girl Tech. Hermione enjoys helping to clean up the club and reading to the younger students. Hermione has demonstrated to be a team player by working well with other club members and the staff.   
      BATES

Zuri, 14
Over the past month Zuri has taken the lead in the Teen Center among her peers. Over the last four weeks Zuri has lead a group of middle school members on the topic of improving the club and attracting more preteen/teen members. Also, Zuri has joined the Debate Club, Writing Club and Girl Tech. She has become a major asset to each of the clubs. In addition, Zuri has taken the lead to set up our Teen Takeover for the month of May.

Jaisha, 12
Jaisha loves to play sports for the club. She plays basketball, flag football, and lacrosse. She also enjoys dancing with her friends. Her favorite sports team is the Washington Redskins.
MEADE VILLAGE

Aaminah, 12
 Aaminah is in the 5th grade at Van Bokkelen Elementary School. She attends the club daily and loves spending time reading with her friends in the library. Since joining the Club, Aaminah has grown from being shy to being outgoing. She often attends the club with a smile on her face and ready for the day. A few of her favorite programs are CS Google First, and Career Launch. She also enjoys music makers and power hour. After Power Hour, Aaminah takes initiative and helps to clean out the library with a few other 5th graders. She is a leader and role model for the younger club members.

Antonio is one of three brothers who attends the club. He enjoys attending the club and being in the presence of his fellow peers. He enjoys helping the staff to clean by taking out the trash and putting equipment away in the gym. Antonio’s favorite subject in school is Science and he loves learning about the planets and conducting experiments. His favorite hobby is Basketball and his favorite BGCAA program is Passport to Manhood.

ADMIRAL OAKS
Seynabou, 14
Seynabou is a 9th grader at Annapolis High School and attends the Boys & Girls Club regularly. Over the past six months Seynabou has grown into a dynamic leader in the Club and in the community. She helps others in the Club with daily tasks and has received honor roll accomplishments at school.  She would like to one day be a member of BGCAA's Junior Staff program. Seynabou is a great role-model for other Club members. Seynabou Touray is a part of her high school’s step team and will be representing Admiral Oaks Boys & Girls Club for the local Youth of the Year honor.

Eric, 11 
March was Eric’s first month of being a Bates Boys & Girls Club member after the transition from Annapolis Gardens. He quickly emerged as a strong leader. Eric has taken on a leadership role in the game room by leading his peers into Power Hour as well as transitioning to dinner or programs. Eric makes sure other members clean up after dinner before attending programs or other activities. With such respect to staff and other members Eric has become an example of a true Boys & Girls Club Kid!

Ke'Ahrri, 8
Ke'Ahrri is always full of life and energy. He likes to play with his friends at the Club. His favorite things to do are play on the computer, play on the playground, and on the Wii. He is known to break out a dance move at any time.
MEADE VILLAGE

Jay'von, 6 
Jay'von was named member of the month because of his hard work and kindness since his first day at the Club. Every day he comes in with a bright smile on his face. He is always asking to be a helper with food and emptying out milk. He also comes in and jumps right into his homework. He loves to come to the Club to participate in the Rooted in Reading program.

Antoine is a new member at the  Club. He likes coming to the Club because he like to be with his friend Avaughn. He said he is excited about being a member of the Club. He is always the first one to get ready to do his homework.

R’reon, 10,
R'reon (Dinka) is developing into a strong leader in her age group at the Club. Some of the younger members look up to Dinka for advice and help with homework. She has demonstrated the ability to work well with the other Club members.

Tyshawn, 7
Tyshawn has displayed amazing energy during Power Hour (homework time) as well as other BGCAA programs. Tyshawn has asked to read the Rooted in Reading books during the program thanks to an increased confidence in reading. Tyshawn completes his homework assignments during Power Hour and helps his counterparts. He works well with the other members and has become outgoing, getting involved with activities where he may not have participated in the past.  
BYWATER
Qiomyi, 9 
Qiomyi likes music, dancing, reading, and hanging out with her friends. She helps the younger members read. She liked learning lacrosse with the QuickStix program.  
MEADE VILLAGE
Isaiah, 9  
Isaiah comes to the Club every day ready to have a great experience. He gets his homework done without being told. He is always asking staff if he can be their helper for the day.

Demetrius, 11

Demetrius likes coming to the Club because he likes to get help with his homework, play pool and have fun playing basketball. Demetrius is always helping with the younger members at the Club. When Demetrius comes to the Club he always has a smile on his face.

Jailyn - 10 
Jailyn attends the Club regularly; she is sweet and always has a smile on her face. She is very helpful around the Club during Power Hour, cleanup, and with programs. Two of her favorite programs are Smarts Girls and SC Google. Jailyn also enjoys arts & crafts.
ADMIRAL OAKS
Faliou - 6 and Aliou - 7
Faliou and Aliou both demonstrate a great ability to work well with the other Club members. They have perfect attendance in programs such as Rooted in Reading, Triple Play, Healthy Habits, and Power Hour. These young boys take accountability for their work and assist with clean-up duties inside of the Club.

Jalen - 12
Jalen has used Power Hour (BGCAA's homework help program) to focus on certain classes and has elevated his GPA. Jalen has also taken an interest in Passport to Manhood and has led the group discussions leading to a deeper level of confidence within himself and uplifting those around him. Jalen continues to take a leadership role in the “Teen Center” assisting with the growth of the teens who come in contact with him.

Darion - 15,
Darion loves to play basketball and football. His favorite team is the New York Giants. He attends Annapolis High School. Darion is very helpful around the Club and a great role model for the younger kids. He likes playing sports at the Club.

Mikia  - 14
Mikia is a new member of the Keystone Club (BGCAA's teen leadership Club).   She likes coming to the Club to play cards and basketball. Mikia is always looking out for younger members at the Club. When Mikia come to the Club she always has a smile on her face.

Daja - 10 
Daja is very helpful around the Club. She helps passing out food during dinner and had made great improvements with her grades and attitude.

Darion is very energetic and enjoys dancing, singing, and coloring with her friends. Her favorite singer is Beyoncé.

Tazion - 17
Tazion is a new member of the Keystone Club.   He likes coming to the Club because he likes to eat!  He also likes to help the Club Director around to Club. and is a member of his school's ROTC Program. 
MEADE VILLAGE
Kayla - 7 
Kayla has been a big help to the staff by passing out lunches. She also helps to get all of the 6 and 7 year olds in straight lines to do programs. She comes to the Club everyday with a positive attitude. 
ANNAPOLIS GARDENS
Imere - 6 
Imere faithfully attends the Club every day with a smile on her face. She loves reading and is a big help on Mondays During the Rooted in Reading program for 6 to 8 year olds.  She enjoys learning and playing new games. Dancing at the club with her friends is one of her favorite things to do. She said one of her favorite things about coming to the Club is meeting new people like Mr. Alex (STEM Coordinator). She cannot wait until she is old enough to participate in SC Google First with Mr. Alex.

Zoe - 6
Zoe enjoys BGCAA's Rooted in Reading program and has great attendance at the Club. She has been a huge help around the Clubhouse.

Phalen - 9
Phalen has a great character and enjoys assisting the Junior Staff and Staff at the Bates Branch of BGCAA.  He enjoys assisting getting Club members to Power Hour and then helps pass out the meals at dinner time. He then helps lead the members in clean-up.  Phalen also demonstrates great sportsmanship while engaging in team sport activities. Often the staff has noticed him help with conflict resolution between other members and he always displays a positive attitude.

Elijah was chosen as member of the month because his homework help has been awesome. Everyday he comes to the Club with a great big smile on his face. He also helps pass out food for the other members.

Denasia - 9 
Denasia is friends with everyone in the Club. Her favorite thing about coming to the Club is dancing and playing with her friends. Her favorite program is Smart Girls because she likes the girl talk and learning new things about herself as she is maturing. She also likes the fun activities we do after each Smart Girls lesson. 

ADMIRAL OAKS
Michael - 13 
Michael is a part of the Passport to Manhood group at Admiral Oaks and hasn’t missed a session yet. Michael comes into the Clubhouse looking forward to getting his homework and studying done and then he can chat with his friends later. He also helps assist with the Rooted in Reading group by doing hands on literacy projects with the smaller kids
BATES
Cyelle 
Cyelle has shown great leadership skills in programs, especially in Rooted in Reading. After reading a book called, “The Day the Crayons Quit,” she offered great insight on how she could relate to the treatment of the crayons in the story. She has also shown great improvement in her attitude and her leadership qualities. She has shown growth in how she holds herself amongst her peers and has become more active in Power Hour and Club programs.

Eric - 11 
Eric's favorite things about the Club are talking with his Club Director and helping out around the Club whether it's putting tables away or sweeping floors. He is a big helper when it comes to printing flyers and handing them out throughout the neighborhood. He enjoys participating in the Healthy Habits program because he is learning which things he eats are healthy vs. unhealthy. He also likes coming to the Club to play with his friends and enjoys drawing and painting.

Makenzie - 8 
Makenzie is a wonderful student and member of the Boys & Girls Club at the Admirals Oaks Branch. Makenzie enjoys helping the Club Director and assists with keeping the Club organized. Makenzie is a great representation of a BGCAA Club member.

Anaja - 13 
Anaja has embraced and excelled in BGCAA's Power Hour Program. In addition she is very involved with  the Career Launch and Healthy Habits programs. She displays a big and kind heart as she interacts with all of her peers as well as assisting with the younger members. Anaja has come a long way as she  used to tune everything and everyone out with her earphones. But, now she has become outgoing and attentive to her peers and studies. Anaja has received straight A’s on her first quarter report card.

Jer'Miah - 12
Jer'Miah has been a part of the Boys & Girls Club for six years. She can always be seen dancing or singing with a smile on her face. She is part of the Torch Club (the Club's Leadership Development Program) and the enjoys the SMART Girls program .

Jermaine - 6
Jermaine is participates in BGCAA's Money Matters program and likes to come to the Club to play basketball and cards with his friends. 
He said he enjoys being around the staff. You can often see Jermaine helping out around the Club at the end of the day.

Thaddeus - 8 
Thaddeus attends Meade Heights Elementary School as a 3rd grader. He's a great student and expects to be on the honor roll this upcoming report card. While at the Club Thaddeus enjoys playing football and beating staff at foosball. Thaddeus' favorite thing about the Club is being able to play with the other members.

Loyalty always has a smile on her face and enjoys singing and dancing. She participates in BGCAA's JESS program (Junior Engineer and Scientist Series) 
which introduces youth to science and engineering through fun, engaging, hands-on experiments and activities. Loyalty like to come to the Club to have fun and do her homework.

Todd is nominated for Youth of the Month due to his leadership qualities as well as his ability to work well with others. During programs such as Career Launch, Triple Play Leadership or Power Hour, it has become a norm to see Todd taking accountability for his work as well as assisting other members to ensure their success.

Jaiylin loves the Boys & Girls Club because the staff and volunteers help her with her homework. She also enjoys going to Maryland Hall for art classes, the snacks at the Club, playing outside, drawing and having fun at the Club every day .

Jeremiha loves coming to the Club because he is given the opportunity to express himself openly.

Ahmar - 6 
Ahmar is an active member of the Wiley H. Bates Club. He is an active participant in the Junior Engineer Scientist Series. Every day, he comes to the Club with a huge smile. Ahmar truly enjoys working hands-on with the legos, creating art and crafts projects and playing games in the gym.

Kalese is very cheerful and participates in a lot of activities such as Smart Girls and Rooted in Reading. She likes to dance and sing with her other friends at the Club.

Star continues to strive in the classroom, earning Honor Roll for this quarter. Not only is she excelling in the classroom, Star is the first one to volunteer around the Club. She helps the younger members with homework, keeping the Club areas clean and sometimes helping to file documents. Star helps out so much around the club she has been honored with the title "Jr. Jr. Staff", our Jr. Staff in Training.
